As years passed, makeup and cosmetics have evolved into more complex products and more time-consuming procedures. Trends dramatically change, and every day having a full face of makeup seems to take up more and more time every day.
Thankfully, permanent makeup procedures are here to revolutionize your day-to-day life. With a single session, you can have an elaborate eyeliner look, full and glamorous brows, and radiant lips virtually unchanged for up to a year!
Manual microblading is a process that involves tiny, fine-point needles (instead of a tattoo gun) that make up a small disposable blade and handle (picture a very small tool that looks like a small comb) to scratch and deposit pigment simultaneously under your skin. The result? Realistic-looking brow hairs that don’t wash off.
Ombre is a powdered brow technique for clients who prefer fuller results than hair strokes, but still want them to appear very soft. This look resembles daily makeup done with an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow shadow. This particular procedure is our most common type of Brow done, as it’s considered the “Instagram Brow” by our younger clientele. Several different types of Power Ombre Brow are available and good for all skin types, especially oily skin with large pores.
***A consultation for all PMU procedures is required to talk about which service is best for your needs and what you’re looking for.
The “Combo” brow is a combination of microblading and the “Ombré Powder Brow” technique. Both [microblading and ombré shading] are semi-permanent tattoos, but microblading is making short hair-like strokes. Ombré brows are a series of many fine dots that vary in concentration, giving the look of a powdered brow.
This procedure is perfect for clients who like the look of a soft penciled or powdered eyebrow or for clients wanting a more defined look throughout the entire brow. The healing process for this type of brow is the same as microblading since we will be putting some realistic strokes at the bulb of the brow and anywhere there is hair missing.
It is possible to combine both techniques as one can be used at the beginning of the brow and the other can be used on the ends. For those short little vertical lines, microblading might look good on the front and ombré would look good through the brow and on the tail. The goal is a more natural look, allowing the most minor of hair flicks in the beginning and preventing the brow from starting in a solid mass.
This combination allows even those with sparse or little hair to have a more natural, full-looking brows. Results from the Combo Brow will make you wake up smiling!
While many people tend to use permanent makeup procedures to cut down on morning routine times or if they’re allergic to traditional cosmetics, there are many people who can benefit from it.
People with reduced dexterity, like Parkinson’s or arthritis patients, see permanent makeup procedures as a great alternative to improve their looks. These procedures can even boost self-esteem and even health! Studies have found there’s a correlation between the way we look and how good we feel.
Whether reducing your daily morning routine, dealing with allergies to cosmetics, or reduced dexterity, permanent makeup procedures can help you regain your confidence and feel a lot better!

Combo Brows and Ombre Powder Brows typically last 2-4 years, but will still need a touchup every 2-4 years. Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered permanent and will not wash off, though they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed annually. Those who did not follow after care instructions properly may require more frequent touch ups. Keep in mind though that everyone’s skin is different.
Your brows will take 10-14 days to heal. During that time frame, we highly recommend that you let them naturally exfoliate off. DO NOT PICK AT YOUR BROWS! You would also be encouraged to keep them free of water, sweat, steam, etc. Once the scabbing phase passes, the brows will appear lighter, and their true color should come out after 4-6 weeks. It is also recommended that if you go outside to wear a hat; you don’t want your new brows to be damaged by the sun while they are healing! Don’t worry though, as long as you’re good at following the aftercare instructions provided there shouldn’t be a problem going to work or being out in public.
A complimentary touch-up is given to ALL PMU Clients 6-8 weeks after your initial procedure. If you cancel your appointment without notice, you will forfeit your complimentary touch-up and you will have to pay full price for your touch-up/perfecting session.
